John has been operating the John Molnar Funeral Homes as President since 1969. John's Leadership qualities have served
him well as 1969 Class President of Wayne State University School
of Mortuary Science, former President of the Delwood Kiwanis Club,
past officer and member of the Southgate Knights of Columbus,
and Past President of The Hungarian Heritage Club. Civically, John
has served as Chairman of the Southgate Public Safety Commission,
and he is also an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church
in Southgate.
John acknowledges his success in business would
not have been possible without the steadfast commitment of his
wife, Helen. They have one daughter, Angela, who has proudly continued
the Molnar tradition of being a licensed funeral director. In
their free time, John and Helen enjoy spending time with their
family. |

Angela

Angela graduated from Wayne State University in the fall of 1993
as the Vice President of her Mortuary Science Class. After graduation,
she began to assist her father in operating the John Molnar Funeral
Homes. All aspects of the funeral home are what encompass her life
now as she oversees the daily operations of both the Brownstown
and Southgate facilities. Community service is also an important
part of her life. She is an active member of Our Lady of the Woods
Catholic Church, and has been a past board member of the Brownstown
Downtown Development Authority, and was the past secretary, past
president, and charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Brownstown.
Angela and her husband Larry have four daughters: Madelyn, Megan,
Melanie, and Maranda. For Angela, being a mother to four young daughters
is one of the most rewarding jobs she could ever have and she devotes
all of her free time to spending it with her family. |

Larry joined the funeral home after graduating from high school. He soon enrolled into the Mortuary Science Program at Wayne State
University. After receiving his degree in the fall of 1997, he became
involved in the daily operations of the John Molnar Funeral Home.
Larry is member of the Knights of Columbus – Trenton Chapter, the Downriver and Detroit Business Association,
and a past member of the Woodhaven - Brownstown Kiwanis Club, and
the Brownstown Downtown Development Authority. He is an active member
and usher at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church. In his spare
time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Angela and four young
daughters. |

Peter
L. Heggie, Funeral Director

Peter joined the firm in January of 1990 as a Licensed Funeral Director
and now serves as the General Manager as well. Upon graduation from
Southgate High School in 1977, he went onto Wayne State University
where he graduated with a degree in Mortuary Science in 1981. He
went on to marry his wife Cindy and they have two daughters, Amanda
and Katie, all life long residents of Southgate.
Peter is an active
member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where he serves as a Lector,
Eucharistic Minister, and is also a member of the Administration
Commission. Civically, he serves the City of Southgate as a Commissioner
of the Parks and Recreation Commission and a member of the TIFA
Board. Peter is also a member of the Southgate Kiwanis Club where
he has served as the club secretary for over 15 years. |

Michael

Mike and his wife Kristine live in Brownstown with their daughter,
Lori. Mike graduated from Wayne State University in 1984 with his
degree in Mortuary Science.
As a funeral director, he joined the
firm in 1998. Mike is a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Wayne,
a current member of the Woodhaven Kiwanis Club, a past board member
of the Brownstown Downtown Development Authority and past president
of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association, District 2. He is
an active member of St. John Lutheran Church of Waltz. |

Steven

Steve and his wife Jerri live in Taylor and have one daughter and one step-daughter. He graduated from Wayne State University in 1979 with a degree in Mortuary Science. Steve has been working as a licensed funeral director in the Downriver area since 1981.
Professional and community involvement is evident through the various memberships he holds, some of which include: Member and past officer of the Allen Parks Elks Lodge, member of the Michigan Embalmers Society, Past Member and Past Officer of the Allen Park Lions Club, Past Member and Officer of BNI (Business Network International), Current Member of the Southern Wayne County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber Connections Group), Brownstown Lions Club, Downriver and Detroit Business Association (DADBA). Professional affiliations include: Member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (APFSP). Steve is distinguished as a Certified Funeral Celebrant from the In-Sight Institute from the University of Oklahoma, and carries the title CFSP representing him as a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner. The previous title shows his commitment to funeral service by completing 180 hours of continued learning to earn this title along with 20 hours of continued learning annually to maintain this title. |

Thomas A. Morris, Funeral Director

Thomas lives in Brownstown. Originally of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Thomas attended University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and Oakland Community College before obtaining his degree in Mortuary Science from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York, New York. He is a member and Club Treasurer/Vice President of the Woodhaven - Brownstown Rotary Club, active with the Wyandotte Jaycees, the Michigan Embalmers Society, Michigan Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. He is also a licensed Funeral Director in both Wisconsin and Michigan.
While not at the funeral home Thomas enjoys activities with family and friends, playing and watching hockey, pheasant hunting and boating. |

Abigail was born and raised in Paris, Michigan. After graduating from Reed City High School she moved to Detroit to pursue a bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science at Wayne State University, and completed the program in August 2011. In her free time, Abigail enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, cooking, exercising, traveling, reading, and listening to various types of music. |

Renee and her husband Chris live in Brownstown with their
two young
daughters, Elena and Grace. Renee graduated in 1997 from Monroe
County Community College with an Associates Degree in Electric Office
Systems. She joined the John Molnar Funeral Home in May 1997.
Renee
is a member of Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Church. When not working,
Renee enjoys spending her time with her family and pursing her interests
of dancing, gardening, reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors. |

Dawn and her husband Phil live in Woodhaven with their two daughters, Isabel and Irina. Dawn graduated in 1997 from Owens State Community College in Toledo, Ohio, with an Associates Degree in Computer Aided Technical Illustrating and Electronic Publishing. She joined the John Molnar Funeral Home in 2008.
Dawn is an active PTO Board Member at Bates Elementary School and also volunteers with Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center (DYPAC). She enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, reading, going to the movies, photography, traveling and camping.

Marjorie

Marjorie Legarski Natt has lived Downriver her entire life. Before
joining the John Molnar Funeral Homes Staff in June of 1999, she
worked for 35 years at another family-owned business, the former
Gladwin Corporation, which was located in Southgate, Taylor, and
five out-of-state locations. Marjorie was responsible for human
resources and payroll system wide. The company is still in Taylor
but under different ownership.
She
enjoyed a year of retirement and then wanted to get back out into
the working world. She answered a newspaper ad and was hired by
another family-owned business. She has always enjoyed working
with people, and through her work today, the opportunity to offer
assistance to families during a very difficult time. She enjoys
spending time with her family, friends, reading, walking, traveling,
crocheting, and involvement in her Church and a Stock Club. |

Audrey
Holmes, Receptionist |

Audrey
has been a resident of the city of Southgate for the past 15 years.
She and her husband Ian, (who passed away in November 2006) have
four sons and two grandsons. Audrey had previously worked for
a neurosurgeon at Oakwood Hospital for twenty-two years. She joined
the John Molnar Funeral Home staff in 2003.
Audrey
has served in several capacities in her free time for the City
of Southgate which include being a member of the Historical Commission,
the Special Events Committee, twice servicing as the Heritage
Days Parade Chairperson, and currently serving as a member of
the Board of Zoning Appeals. She and her husband also have been
active for the last 17 years with the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.
This motorcycling organization benefits many charities including
the Penrickton Center for Blind Children and the Rainbow Organization.

Marion

Marion is a life-long resident of the Downriver area. She is a
graduate of Allen Park High School and presently resides in Southgate
with her husband, Ron who is a Ford Motor Company retiree. She
is the mother of two adult daughters.Marion is a retiree of The
J. L. Hudson Company and Target Corporation, where she was an
administrative assistant.
Marion
is an active member of ST. Paul United Church of Christ in Taylor,
Downriver Performing Arts Center (DYPAC) in Trenton, and Southgate
Community Players. She currently serves on the City Beautiful
Commission for the City of Southgate. Marion has been an employee
of the John Molnar Funeral Homes since 2002. |

Kathleen Gillies, Receptionist |

Kathy is a lifelong resident of Southgate, along with her husband Don and daughter Katie. Since graduating from Schafer High School, she has worked in retail, data processing, accounting, and home health care.
Kathy also works part-time at Wayne County Adult Day Care for senior citizens with Alzheimer ’s and Dementia. She enjoys her animals, shopping, friends, and family.
